If you use Cox for your internet service at your home or office, you may have noticed that Cox redirects all non-existent domains to finder.cox.net. This can get especially annoying because you have to retype the entire domain name into the browser bar again, instead of looking it over and correcting the spelling mistake. To prevent this from happening, you can use a different DNS server than the one Cox’s DHCP has provided. You can use OpenDNS, Google, and Cox offers an opt-out DNS server. Simply change your DNS server to;
OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
Google: 8.8.8.8
Cox (Add Free): 68.105.28.13 and 68.105.29.13 (IPV6: 2001:578:3f::20 and 2001:578:3f:1::20)
